Sesame and Soy Beef and Broccoli Fajitas

Rich flavour makes these Asian-inspired Sesame and Soy Beef and Broccoli Fajitas an instant family favourite. Dempster's® Original 7'' Tortillas are filled with the savoury beef and veggie stir-fry and wrapped up for a tasty, savoury dish. Serves four.

  • 6  Dempster’s® Original 7" Tortillas
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) Vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 lb (454 g) Sirloin steak, sliced into ½" (1 cm) strips
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) Minced garlic, divided
  • 1  Small red onion, sliced
  • 3 cups (750 mL) Broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Sliced carrots
  • 1/2  Red pepper, sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) Rice vinegar
  • Pinch of chilli flakes
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) Sugar
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) Sesame oil, divided
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) Sesame seeds


  1. HEAT 1 tbsp (15 mL) of oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Season beef with salt and pepper. Add to skillet along with 1 tsp (5 mL) of garlic. Stir-fry for 5-6 minutes or until the meat is nicely browned. Remove from pan and set aside. Heat the remaining oil in the same pan, add onions, broccoli and carrots and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes. Add peppers and continue to cook until vegetables are fork tender return beef to the pan.  COMBINE soy sauce, rice vinegar, chilli flakes, sugar, 1 tsp (5 mL) of sesame oil and the sesame seeds. Pour over the beef and vegetables and cook for 1-2 minutes or until slightly thickened.  ASSEMBLE by dividing the filling between the six tortillas. Drizzle with the remaining sesame oil.

Tip: Serve with sour cream, hoisin sauce and fresh cilantro.
