- 1/4 cup (60mL) Hummus
- 4 Slices Dempster's® Whole Wheat Bread
- 1 Tomato, sliced
- 1/4 Small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup (250mL) Chopped baby spinach leaves
- 6 Fresh basil leaves
- 4 Slices White Cheddar Cheese
- 2 tbsp (30mL) Olive Oil
SPREAD hummus evenly on one side of 2 bread slices.
TOP with tomato slices, red onion, spinach, basil, cheese and remaining bread slices.
DRIZZLE olive oil in a large skillet and cook each sandwich until golden and the cheese is melted.
CUT in half and serve.
Tip: For something different, use a grill pan or panini press instead of a skillet to toast the sandwich.
