Easy Turkey Sandwich Skewers are a cute take on a classic lunchtime favourite. As fun to eat as they are to photograph, the dainty sandwiches on sticks are ideal for picnics and parties. They're prepared with fresh and nourishing ingredients, including Dempster’s® 100% Whole Grain Double Flax Bread. Serves four.

  • 4 slices Dempster's® 100% Whole Grain Double Flax Bread, toasted
  • 8 cherry tomatoes
  • 8 oz (250 g) firm cheese, cut into 16 cubes (3/4-inch/2 cm cubes)
  • 4 slices cooked deli turkey, halved and rolled
  • 4 slices lettuce, torn into pieces
  • 2/3 cup (150 mL) plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) white wine vinegar
  • 4 tsp (20 mL) chopped fresh herbs (such as parsley, chives or mint)
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) garlic powder
  • Pinch each salt and pepper


  1. Cut bread into 3/4-inch (2 cm) cubes (you should have 16 cubes). Thread bread, cherry tomatoes, cheese, turkey and lettuce onto 8 wooden skewers.
  2. Ranch Dressing: Whisk together yogurt, vinegar, herbs, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Serve with skewers for dipping.
