Breakfast Burgers with Bacon and Cheese

Enjoy breakfast any time of the day with our Breakfast Burgers with Bacon and Cheese. The combination of savoury ingredients is stacked on Dempster’s® Signature Gold Hamburger Buns and topped off with a drizzle of maple syrup for a sweet finish. Serves four.

  • 4 Dempster’s® Signature Gold Hamburger Buns, split and toasted
  • 1 lb (500 g) lean ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) each salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) canola oil
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, crispy cooked
  • 1 avocado, halved, pitted, peeled and sliced
  • 4 eggs, fried
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) maple syrup


  1. Mix together ground beef, salt and pepper. Divide into 4 portions; shape each portion into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick patty.
  2. Heat oil in large skillet set over medium heat; cook burgers, turning halfway through, for 5 to 7 minutes or until instant-read thermometer inserted in centre of burger reads 160°F (71°C). Top each burger with cheese slice; cook for about 1 minute or until cheese starts to melt.
  3. Assemble burgers in buns with bacon, avocado and fried eggs. Drizzle with maple syrup.

Tip: Substitute scrambled eggs for fried eggs if preferred.
