Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Bacon and Guacamole
Give in to temptation with this Tex-Mex-inspired Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Bacon and Guacamole. Full of zesty flavours and served with a side of salsa for dipping, this savoury sandwich is simply irresistible. Served on satisfying Dempster's® 100% Whole Grains Ancient Grains with Quinoa Bread, it's a hearty choice that’s great for lunch or dinner. Serves one.
2 slices Dempster's® 100% Whole Grains Ancient Grains with Quinoa Bread
2 tbsp (30 mL) guacamole
2 slices Cheddar cheese
2 slices bacon, cooked
2 tbsp (30 mL) crumbled feta cheese
1 tsp (5 mL) butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup (60 mL) tomato salsa, for dipping
Spread guacamole over 1 slice of bread. Top with cheese slice, bacon, crumbled feta and remaining cheese slice. Cap with remaining slice of bread. Spread butter over outside of each bread slice.
Heat skillet set over medium heat; cook sandwich for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until bread is toasted and cheese melts.
Serve with salsa for dipping.
Tip: Substitute Monterey Jack for Cheddar cheese if desired.
