Give in to temptation with this Tex-Mex-inspired Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Bacon and Guacamole. Full of zesty flavours and served with a side of salsa for dipping, this savoury sandwich is simply irresistible. Served on satisfying Dempster's® 100% Whole Grains Ancient Grains with Quinoa Bread, it's a hearty choice that’s great for lunch or dinner. Serves one.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 slices Dempster's® 100% Whole Grains Ancient Grains with Quinoa Bread
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) guacamole
- 2 slices Cheddar cheese
- 2 slices bacon, cooked
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) crumbled feta cheese
- 1 tsp (5 mL) butter, at room temperature
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) tomato salsa, for dipping
DIRECTIONS
- Spread guacamole over 1 slice of bread. Top with cheese slice, bacon, crumbled feta and remaining cheese slice. Cap with remaining slice of bread. Spread butter over outside of each bread slice.
- Heat skillet set over medium heat; cook sandwich for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until bread is toasted and cheese melts.
- Serve with salsa for dipping.
Tip: Substitute Monterey Jack for Cheddar cheese if desired.
