Prosciutto and Cheese Pinwheels

Savoury Prosciutto and Cheese Pinwheels are the perfect additions to your tea-sandwich platter. Prepared with Dempster’s® White Bread and simple, delicious ingredients, they make quick-and-tasty appetizers that are sure to impress. Serves four to six.

  • 4 slices Dempsters® White Bread
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) softened butter
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) grainy mustard
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) chopped fresh chives
  • 2 slices prosciutto, halved
  • 4 square slices old Cheddar cheese


  1. Cut crusts from bread. Using a rolling pin, roll bread to flatten slightly.
  2. Mix together butter, mustard and chives; spread over bread slices. Top with slice of prosciutto and slice of Cheddar, leaving 1/4-inch (5 mm) border on one end. Starting at opposite end, roll up tightly towards border. Trim both ends of each roll; slice each roll into 4 pinwheels.
