Chocolate Peanut Butter Hummus Bagels
Get creative in the kitchen with quick-and-easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Hummus Bagels. Combining a sweet-and-salty chocolate-peanut butter spread with Dempster’s® Signature Banana Chocolate Chip Flavour Bagels, it's a decadent breakfast treat. Serves four.
- 4 Dempster’s® Signature Bagels – Banana Chocolate Chip, split and toasted
- 1 can (400 mL) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) smooth peanut butter
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) honey
- 2 tsp (10 mL) vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp (1 mL) ground cinnamon
- 1 cup (250 mL) sliced strawberries
- In food processor, pulse together chickpeas, peanut butter, cocoa powder, honey, 1 tbsp (15 mL) water, vanilla and cinnamon until smooth. Spread chocolate hummus over each bagel; top with strawberries.
As a variation, substitute raspberries, banana or pineapple for strawberries.
To transform this breakfast bagel into dessert bagels, garnish bagels with a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel.
