French Toast Fingers

Try a new take on French toast with these fabulous French Toast Fingers. A sweet and savoury breakfast treat featuring Dempster’s® White Bread, they're quick and easy to make and even quicker and easier to eat. Dust toast fingers with icing sugar for a sweet finishing touch. Serves four.

  • 8 Slices Dempster's® White Bread
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Jam (strawberry, raspberry, or apricot)
  • Icing sugar


  1. WHISK together eggs, milk, salt and vanilla in a shallow bowl. Set aside.
  2. SPREAD jam evenly over four of the slices of bread and top with the remaining slices of bread. Trim the crusts if desired and cut each sandwich into three equal strips.
  3. PREHEAT a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease the pan. Dip each sandwich strip into the egg mixture to coat. Place in the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  4. DUST with icing sugar before serving.
