Grilled Portobello Mushroom Burger
For a hearty vegetarian BBQ recipe, this Grilled Portobello Mushroom Burger is a winner. Prepared on a Dempster’s® Original Hamburger Bun, it's a satisfying meatless burger for veggie lovers who enjoying summertime grilling. Serves eight.
1 Package Dempster's® Original Hamburger Buns (8)
8 Portobello mushrooms, stemmed (about 3 to 3 1/2-inch each)
1 cup (250 mL) baby spinach
2 red bell peppers, cored and quartered
1/2 cup (125 mL) crumbled herb goat cheese
Preheat grill to medium-high; grease grate well. Grill mushrooms and peppers for 4 to 5 minutes per side or until grill-marked and tender.
Meanwhile, toast buns. Fill each bun with some spinach, Portobello, red pepper, and crumbled goat cheese.
If serving for less people, divide accordingly.
Tip: Substitute your favourite flavoured goat cheese like peppercorn or cranberry.
