For a special treat on Canada Day, or any day, try these Poutine Hot Dogs. Inspired by the classic Canadian dish, this recipe takes your favourite cheesy poutine flavours and reinvents them in hot-dog form on Dempster’s® Original Hot Dog Buns. Serves four.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Dempster's® Original Hot Dog Buns
  • 4 all-beef hot dogs
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Cheddar cheese curds
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) prepared beef gravy, warmed
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) chopped fresh chives

DIRECTIONS

  1. Grill hot dogs according to package directions.
  2. Assemble hot dogs in buns; top with cheese curds and gravy. Sprinkle with chopped chives before serving.

Tip: Serve these hot dogs with French fries if desired.
