Creamy avocado and savoury smoked salmon pair up for the ultimate breakfast, lunch or anytime snack.

  • 2 slices Dempster’s® Whole Grain Multigrain Bread, toasted
  • 1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
  • 4 slices smoked salmon
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) finely diced red onion
  • Fresh dill sprigs
  • Dill Sour Cream:
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) sour cream
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) chopped fresh dill
  • Pinch each salt and pepper


Dill Sour Cream: Mix together sour cream, dill, salt and pepper. Set aside.

Mash together avocado, lemon juice and salt; spread evenly over toast.

Top each toast with smoked salmon, red onion and dollop of Dill Sour Cream. Garnish with dill sprigs.

Tip: For added gourmet flair, sprinkle capers, or black or red caviar over top.
